syjang.JPGSunyoung Jang obtained his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University in 1997.  Afterward, he had his postdoctoral training in radiology at the University of Pennsylvania; and he continued his work in radiation oncology at the University as an instructor.  Before joining the Alpert Medical School of Brown University as a faculty member, Dr. Jang was as an assistant professor at Northwestern University.  At Northwestern he was a board member of Bioimaging Center and worked on various research projects with graduate students and medical residents for the radiation treatments in cancer. 

Currently, at Brown Dr. Jang is actively involved with providing clinical service, teaching residents, and conducting research.  He has been a reviewer for the Medical Physics Journal and IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science. Also, he is a committee member for the molecular imaging in radiation oncology group and nuclear medicine subcommittee at the AAPM (American Association of the Physicist in Medicine).
